“But after what happened, Eunice’s parents went back to their hometown with her grandfather and never returned,” Bailey said.
She thought it was a pity. She’d once been friends with Eunice. She used to stay at the Lennons‘ during her summer and winter breaks.
She’d been studying abroad when the incident had happened, so she’d been blissfully unaware. She’d only found out about it after she’d gotten back.
“To be honest, I haven’t seen her in a long time. It’s been around six years,” Bailey added.
Lucille was confused. “Don’t they visit Moore Manor during Christmas or New Year’s?”
Bailey sighed. “Uncle lan never visited Moore Manor with Eunie. My mom even mentioned that they didn’t invite anyone to their wedding.
“It was just the two of them. Her wedding gown was even her sister’s.” Bailey’s nose tingled as she spoke. She pitied Eunice.
Lucille was surprised. She thought of the gentle, well–balanced Eunice, who’d been reduced to a meek and self–deprecating lady.
Meanwhile, at the Johnson residence, William looked at Horace and asked, “Dad, should we invite Mom home for Thanksgiving this year?”
Upon hearing his words, Ivy and Sabrina silently exchanged glances.
Horace frowned and said after a long time, “Yes.”
“Grandpa, I’ll go with Mom and Dad to invite Grandma home this time. I’m also her granddaughter, after all. I can persuade her to come back.” Sabrina acted like a sensible granddaughter.
Horace looked at her gratefully. He was glad to have a kind and obedient granddaughter like Sabrina.
He knew how much Marie disliked Ivy and Sabrina, but Sabrina had never complained and still treated Marie well. He hadn’t expected Sabrina to remain so kind even after everything she’d been subjected

“Alright, go ahead,” Horace said.
“Okay, Grandpa. Don’t worry. We’ll get Grandma to come home,” Sabrina said confidently.
Blood was thicker than water, after all. She believed she could persuade a stubborn old lady like Marie.
After getting off work in the evening, Lucille and Bailey went to Zaytun Pavilion. They spotted Eunice

Eunice looked up when her name was called. She hadn’t expected to run into Bailey. She said in surprise, “Bailey.”
Bailey hugged her and said, “Long time no see, Eunie.”
Eunice chuckled and patted her back. “I haven’t seen you in so long.”
After pulling away from the hug, Eunice looked at Bailey and Lucille and asked, “Do you know each other?”
“Eunie, this is my best friend,” Bailey introduced.
Eunice was surprised to find out about their relationship. She was also a little envious of them for having a best friend.
“Hello, Eunie.” Lucille smiled at her.
Eunice was pleasantly surprised when Lucille called her by her nickname. Her first impression of Lucille was that she was cold and aloof, so she hadn’t expected Lucille’s smile to be so sweet. She giggled and hummed in acknowledgment.
Lucille looked at Eunice and thought about how Bailey had said that the Lennon family was a family of scholars. Eunice was certainly a wise and gentle lady.
Eunice no longer looked as timid as she’d been last time. On the contrary, she looked elegant and sharp. She was already pretty to begin with, but her stance and demeanor made her more attractive.
The three of them looked picturesque together.
