“There is no why. As a Johsnon, you naturally must attend,” Horace explained hastily.
Lucille wasn’t going to dig deeper. Even if she asked further, they weren’t going to tell the truth anyway.
“Secondly, you should return the shares to the Johnson Group that your mother left you to the Johnson family. They should go to your sister, the actual eldest daughter of the Johnson family,” Horace continued self–righteously without any shame.
Lucille sighed and let out a cold snort.
Behind her, Samuel was also stunned into silence. What a flimsy reason.
Lucille then asked nonchalantly, “So she is the eldest daughter of the Johnson family, is she?” She shifted her gaze to Sabrina, who had kept quiet until now. Smiling, she continued, “She’s only older than me by 20 days. If worse comes to worst, I’ll just change my age.
As soon as she said that, the others
Were stunned. They never thought she would ever say such a thing.
Samuel was quietly giving his boss a big thumbs–up. He expected no less from her sharp mind that calculated every single move.
The receptionist watching from the sidelines couldn’t help but admire Lucille for her outside–the–box
retort!
“It’s a crime to illegally modify your birthday. Lucille, are you trying to ruin our family’s reputation?” Horace yelled angrily.
“I never said I was going to do it illegally. Don’t pin blame on me for no reason. I’m scared!”
“You-” William was so pissed that the finger he pointed at her was shaking. However, that was the only word he could muster.
Seeing her domineering attitude, she didn’t look scared at all!
“What do you want?” Horace shouted sternly with a severe expression.
When Lucille heard that, she looked at Sabrina, the freeloader. She smiled sarcastically and said, “What? Did your lucky star–your granddaughter–not tell you?”
With that, both Horace and William turned toward Sabrina.
Sabrina hesitated when she heard Lucille call her name. Maintaining her graceful posture, she looked at Horace, wanting to say something but unable to make the words come out.
Horace said kindly, “Don’t worry, Sabrina. Be courageous and say it.”
He was completely two–faced when it came to his two granddaughters. An outsider might even think that Lucille wasn’t biologically related to him!
Upon hearing Horace’s affirming words, Sabrina finally spoke up. She said haltingly, “Grandpa, Lucille–she said-”
She stuttered and ended the sentence halfway. Then, looking at Lucille, she tried to explain in a nicer, more roundabout manner. “Grandpa, Lucille didn’t mean to say this about you. Please promise me you

won’t be mad.”
When Lucille heard this, she squinted at Sabrina’s act. Not this again.
Seeing how she was stumbling over her words, Horace said sharply, “Come on, what did she say?”
“Grandpa, Lucille said that she’ll return the shares once you pass on,” Sabrina said quickly.

After she said that, the room fell silent for a few seconds. She looked down to the ground as her eyes took on an evil gloating gleam.
Just as Sabrina had predicted, Horace instantly flew into a rage. He roared thunderously, “Lucille, you wouldn’t ungrateful girl, how dare you wish I was dead? I should have let you die overseas so that you come back only to infuriate us! The Johnson family is a mess because of you!”
Lucille turned a deaf ear to his shouts. She kept an indifferent expression on her face, letting him yell at her as he pleased.
Horace was so mad that his neck had nearly turned purple, but Lucille still pretended not to see.
Ever the actress, Sabrina immediately pretended to jump to Lucille’s defense. “Grandpa, don’t be mad. Lucille didn’t mean it. After all, Aunt Jane had left those shares to her. Her anger is justified, and so is her refusal to give it to us.”
Samuel gave Sabrina a withering look. She truly excelled in badmouthing Lucille under the pretense of helping her.
“It seems like she can’t wait for me to die! Those shares belong to the Johnson family. Even if she doesn’t want to, she has to give it up!” Horace roared again, paying no heed to Sabrina’s defense. 1

Lucille didn’t want to continue wasting time on them. They had already taken up over ten minutes of her precious time.
“Are you done yet?” she asked disinterestedly. It was as if this had nothing to do with her, and that she was just an outsider.
She spread her hands and smiled faintly. “If there’s nothing else, feel free to continue. I’ll let you use this space
for free. There’s no need to thank me, but I won’t stay any longer! After all, as the CEO, I am quite busy!”
Samuel admired his boss. Those words really dealt a serious blow.
As soon as Lucille took a step, William called out to her, “Wait!”
Lucille regarded him coldly. “I’ll go to
the piano recital, but the shares my mother left me are off the table!”
William felt a huge headache coming on after seeing Lucille’s unbothered attitude. His distaste for her only increased.
However, what he said next really shed a new light on him. Lucille didn’t know someone could actually be this shameless!
