Spencer gazed at her softly beneath the dim yellow light of the car. “My parents are returning home tomorrow. Will you come home with me to meet them?”
After spending half a month together, Lucille was starting to accept his presence in her life.
Today, she even said the words “home” to him.
Lucille looked down and thought for a few seconds. Then, she looked up and said, “Sure.”
Inside, she was still conflicted, worried, and scared. She was mostly afraid that his parents would not like
her.
As soon as that thought popped into her head, she heard Spencer’s comforting voice. “Don’t worry, they’ll definitely like you. They’re very easygoing.”
When Mack, who was driving, heard that, he laughed. “Mrs. Layton, my boss is right. Mr. Layton’s parentsare very nice people. I swear on half of my annual paycheck.”
They were truly nice. Everyone in the Layton family could feel it.
“See, Mack swears it’s true too. The thing he cares about the most is his paycheck,” Spencer said, nodding behind Mack’s back.
Lucille chuckled quietly. Taking a deep breath, she said, “Okay. With you around, there’s nothing to be afraid of.”
Spencer was delighted to hear that. It meant that Lucille was beginning to depend on him.
Afterward, he began to tell her about his parents, Eric Layton and Lila Porter. It turned around that the two of them loved to travel and were rarely home. From his stories, Lucille could tell that Eric loved Lila a lot. The old couple were enjoying a blissful life together.
In truth, she was rather envious of his family. His parents were loving, and his family got along well.
Without realizing it, the car had come to a stop outside her condo. As Spencer walked her to the elevator, he suddenly wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her into his arms.
He gently placed his chin on the top of her head. Cradling the back of her head with one hand and holding her waist tightly with the other, he said in his alluring voice, “In the future, we’ll have a family of our own. We’ll be together forever, okay?”
She lay on his chest while listening to his heartwarming heartbeat. After listening to his touching and endearing words, it took a long time for her to finally raise her head from his embrace. Directing her glimmering gaze at him, she broke into a smile and said resolutely, “Yes, let’s be together forever.”
Spencer bent his head slightly so that he was a mere few inches away from her. As he looked at her lips, his eyes darkened. His throat bobbed sexily. “Can I kiss you?”
His question left her stunned. Before she could react, something obstructed her vision, and he pressed down on her head to push her forward.
“Mmh-” His lips covered hers. A bolt of electricity instantly surged through every cell in her body. The kiss electrified her to the point where she couldn’t move.

Spencer sucked on her lip, the sensation of which was a little cold. Then, he flicked his tongue against her’s, which sent chills down her spine. She was completely at a loss as to what to do.
After a long time, he finally released her.
By that point, her face was completely flushed. Her knees buckled, and she fell against his chest. She didn’t dare to look up.
That had been her first kiss!
Although she was usually quite thick–skinned, she couldn’t muster the same energy when it came to things like this.
She hid her face in his arms like a shy teenage girl who just had her first sexual awakening. When it came to this, she was indeed still a young girl.
Once she collected herself, the elevator coincidentally arrived. She pushed him aside and looked down. She did not even spare a glance over her shoulder as she walked straight inside and quickly pressed the
buttons.
Spencer was overjoyed to see her acting shy. (1)
Once the elevator doors shut, Lucille raised her head. She looked in the elevator mirror to see that her face and even her ears were bright red.
She clapped her hands against her cheeks a few times. “Lucille, you’re useless! How could you be so defenseless against his charms?” she muttered. (1)
Downstairs, Spencer waited until he saw that the lift had stopped at her floor before leaving.
The moment Lucille got home, she made a beeline for the shower. She had to calm down.
